Our Director Carmelo Gristina holds the charity close to his heart because his nephew is on the autism spectrum. He said: “My nephew who is 9-years-old was diagnosed with autism when he was two. Growing up with autism has proven to be incredibly challenging.
Initially, experiencing great difficulty in his ability to communicate and engage in social interactions, affected all aspects of his life. Nevertheless, I have witnessed his continuous progression with great determination to overcome his obstacles and develop. He continues to face the daily challenges of living with autism, setting an exemplary standard with an inspiring positive attitude. With the support of his parents, he is most certainly surpassing expectations and growing up to become a very charming and caring young man. The support The National Autism Society offer to young children and adults is so inspiring it would be great to give as much as we can to help such a fantastic charity”.
To help raise both awareness and funding during National Autism Week, which starts Saturday April 2nd until Friday 8th April we will be donating £1 for every scoop of Vaniglia sold for the duration of that week. During this period the staff will also be wearing NAS t-shirts, handing out leaflets and giving away mini flags & stickers to its customers to help raise any much money as possible.
